Body Contouring / Body Wraps

Body Contouring or Body wraps is another what SPA offers to pamper your lovely body. :) The body is wrapped in hot linens, plastic sheets and blankets. Heat penetrates the skin resulting in relaxation and skin revitalization. They are designed to improve the texture and appearance of the skin by helping to rid the body of excess fluids and toxins. The benefits of body wraps may include body contouring, detoxification, boosting of the lymphatic system and metabolism, temporary inch loss, skin tightening, and skin softening.

Body wraps promise to tighten your skin, eliminate toxins, treat cellulite, and even lose you six inches after a single session.

There are varieties of Body Wraps for slimming, contouring etc etc. Wraps are spa treatments designed to slim and tone the body, hydrate or firm the skin, or relax and soothe the muscles. Body wrap treatments come in varied and exciting packages, with one common factor: mummification.

OK, so it's not as scary as that. You should think of a body wrap as a nourishing cocoon to warm, cleanse and moisturise. It's an amazing feeling trust me :D You will love the process if done by Professionals. It helps in getting temporary inch loss, tighter, softer, firmer, hydrated or cleansed skin and relaxed muscles.

Perfect treatment for the ladies who are going to be married in couple of months ;)

Wraps are not a magic solution for wobbly bits, so if your spa "guarantees" weight loss or cellulite-blitzing, beware. Weight loss after a wrap is generally due to water loss, so drink plenty before and afterwards to avoid dehydration.

Similarly, miraculous inch-loss "promises" might not be all they seem. Any buttock/thigh/waist shrinkage is unlikely to be permanent, so don't expect to walk out of the spa with supermodel-svelte legs. Unless you were lucky enough to walk in with a pair, of course.

The solution first applied to your body depends on the treatment you have chosen. Mud, algae, seaweed, herbs, oils and paraffin are common, but honey, rose oil, aloe vera or cucumber are not unknown, either. Many spas have their own signature body wraps, from the exotic to the just plain edible. Could you spend an hour coated in chocolate or red wine without being tempted to lick...?

After she has coated you in mud, algae, chocolate or peanut butter, your therapist will wrap you in warm towels, or heated cotton bandages, or hot linens, while you lie on the treatment table. You will be wrapped again in a thermal blanket or warmed plastic sheets to trap the heat next to your skin and boost your circulation.

Body wrapping mimics the effects of a fever; it encourages the body to sweat out impurities. So to keep you comfortable, you might have a cold compress placed gently on your forehead.

When you're finally freed from your cocoon, don't expect an immediate butterfly-like transformation. You might feel quite cold and soggy at first without your thermal blanket -- so the shower afterwards will be a welcome one. You will be able to scrub away any remaining algae, mud or lumps of strawberry jam before your therapist rubs cream, lotion or oil into your baby-soft skin.

The results are great!! You feel slimmer, toned and firmer after your wrap treatment. Although any initial weight loss will sadly disappear once you have a drink, the wrap experience might just provide the motivation you need to start a healthier new diet or fitness programme.

Different kinds of wraps:

Algae mask or wrap: Warmed algae is applied to the entire body to help nourish and detoxify the skin. It comes in the form of a pungent thick paste and might feel funny or even itchy.

Chocolate wrap: Chocolate is now recognised for its anti-ageing and toning properties. Slathered in real chocolate - and sometimes chocolate cream - sparks off your endorphins, softens your skin, plumps out wrinkles, tones the skin and brightens your day. Warmed, it's extra special!

Frigi thalgo wrap: A cold wrap treatment, designed to control excess fluid in the hip, leg and thigh areas. Frigi thalgo is thought to be good for attacking cellulite and fluid retention, and provides relief for tired legs. The coldness of the wrap stimulates circulatory changes and might be ideal for kick-starting a diet.

Thalasso or seaweed wrap: A concentration of seawater and seaweed is designed to hydrate and firm the skin. Before you start imagining yourself rolled up in a layer of sushi nori, it's worth noting that the seaweed treatment comes in the form of a thick paste, and doesn't always smell beautiful.

Mud wrap: A layer of soothing mud is applied to the skin to detoxify, cleanse and firm. The anti-stress properties of the mud are thought to ease water retention and cleanse the pores by drawing out impurities. A mud wrap might help with arthritis, rheumatism and minor skin irritations.

Cellulite treatment wrap: Designed to boost circulation and flush out toxins -- cellulite-focused wraps target problem areas around the buttocks and thighs.

Herbal wrap: Specially selected for their nourishing properties, fresh or dried herbs are blended with oils and steeped in very hot water. Cloth sheets, often muslin, are soaked in the warm solution before being wrapped around the body. This wrap is usually designed to remove dead skin cells and nourish the skin.

Clay wrap: Similar to a mud wrap, often mixed with aromatherapy oils.

Bust wrap: A firming serum or mask is used around the bust area, aimed at toning and moisturising the skin. A treat for your décolletage, especially after weight loss or breastfeeding.

Paraffin wrap: Warmed paraffin wax is brushed over your body, although some paraffin treatments focus just on the hands or feet. A paraffin wrap is thought to reduce muscle and joint aches and soothe symptoms of arthritis. It's a popular winter treatment and great for skin in need of intense moisturising.

Parafango wrap: "Fango" is the Italian word for mud. This treatment uses a warmed paraffin and mud mixture to create a mini-sauna affect, stimulating the lymphatic flow of the body and drawing out toxins.

Oil wrap: Rich, nourishing aromatherapy oils are used to moisturise dry or dehydrated skin. Often these come in the form of an oil-based balm which, when heated, melts into the skin.

In Qatar, most of the SPA's have Body Wrap's. I had taken Body wrap course of 6 sessions offered at the Marriott SPA. I wanted to try everything special for my wedding :). Unfortunately none of the above Body Wraps were available at Marriott coz they have their very own special "Pevonia Botanica Slimming Green Coffee Body Wrap (Anti-Cellulite)".

This is one of the famous slimming and toning wrap which stimulates your body's ability to break down fat, increase metabolism and eliminate water retention. Pure 100% Micronized Green Coffee, naturally rich in Chlorogenic Acid, Polysaccharides, Proteins, and Essential Oils, smoothes and enhances your skin's overall texture, visibly reducing spongy, dimply, cellulitic areas.

I didn't see any difference in the first session. I drank plenty of water and after the second session my sister was like "you look slim". :D It did work for me

The also sell "Pevonia Botanica'" products. So in case you wanna keep the treatment running you can go for them. I was using Anti-cellulite gel so didn't purchase them. If I had any clue about this I would have not purchased any other brand coz i love the way Pevonia Botanica products worked for me.

Go for it Girls ;) Its worth it :D

Stay Beautiful ;)

Anti Cellulite Gels/Slimming Gels and Body Firming Gels

Cellulite Reduction are the most talked about these days! Another way to pamper your beautiful body. It helps to create a definite/ slim shape for your body.

Am sure you must be like what is this new technique? and how does it helps in giving a new slim shape? well don't worry, you have come to the right site ;)

Cellulite is simply a term that describes the appearance of bumpy looking fat on the body. It is a skin alteration often described as an ‘orange peel,’ ‘mattress,’ or ‘dimpling’ appearance on the thighs, buttocks and sometimes lower abdomen of otherwise healthy women. It is not an actual disease, but it is a condition of bulging fat cells and other coexisting factors that result in the appearance of cellulite. See the below pic of the hanging fats near the arms area.

Same you will see near the inner thighs and buttocks! Have you not? How bad is our cellulite? Give yourself a pinch really!. Grab some of your cellulite between two hands and push it together. If your cellulite is loose, in large areas, and a bit wobbly, it is called soft cellulite. Soft cellulite is the most common type, and luckily it is easier to get rid of. It makes us look like we have poor muscle tone even though we have been working our ferociously, since we jiggle when we walk. Cellulite due mostly to loose skin is a bit different and is treated differently. Hard cellulite is more common in muscular solidly built women. It has a stronger attachment to the muscles. So you have to work harder to get rid of them.

Sometimes the fat cells expand so much that they cause the collagen fibers around them to bend causing puckering of the skin above. There are three layers of fat found in the body. Cellulite is located in the layer of fat closest to the skin. There fat cells are enclosed in pockets formed by collagen fibers. Sometimes the fat cells squeeze on the connective tissues (collagen fibers) and there is little room for the lymphatic drainage system to relieve this build-up of fluids, fats, and toxins. Fat in this layer does not respond well to diet or exercise. Fibrous strands can cause performing successful liposuction to be difficult in this layer of fat. Also, hormones can be responsible for the accumulation of fat in our cellulite layer.

Hope you have now understood about the Cellulites. Now a days many saloons and skin clinics offer the Cellulite treatments. The professionals will advice you about the kind of cellulites you have and treat it accordingly. There are 6-12 sessions for treating cellulites. There has to be at least a weeks gap at every session. This is perfect treatment for the ladies who are going to be Bride's in 4 to 5 months. In case your wedding is just a month away and you wanna do this treatment, consult the professional and they will give you the number of sessions you need for the treatment.

If you feel going to SPA or clinics is very expensive for you. Don't worry you can always cure them at home as well :) My work is to make your life easy ;) I came to know about the cellulite treatment 4 months before my wedding. This is coz there is nothing in Qatar to market/info such products in the market. Products and services come and go, you wouldn't really know until and unless you have female friends who are into this. I started doing hell lot of research coz i did have cellulites around my arms and thighs!! But I felt sad when I found no source I could do this and I didn't have enough female friends who could help me in this regards :( anyways i didn't give up and started doing research on this topic. I did see few places where they offered Anti-Cellulites gels/cream/pills etc I decided to buy it from the pharmacy. I consulted the chemist and he explained me how to use it.

I purchased the product "Placentor Vegetal Well Being Slimming Concentrate 3 actions in one" from "Good Day Pharmacy" located in the City Center, Qatar. Used it how i was instructed. Well with in the use of 4 weeks I could see difference in my arms and thighs. They were getting firmed :) It did Reduce cellulites and gradually reshaped my body. The skin became firmer with clearer contours. Improved blood circulation. The skin surface became soft and supple.

Application is simple! Apply a small quantity of the gel with gentle circular massaging on cellulite prone areas either twice daily as a cure. You can also apply once a day as a long-term treatment. Make sure your skin CLEAN. If you choose to apply twice in a day then apply in the morning after bath and then again at night before sleeping.

Well if you think buying these products and just applying will give you good results then you are WRONG! You have to drink plenty of water so that all the toxins are flushed out! Exercise like skipping or a walk for even 5 minutes will help you get the results.

After trying the above product, I bought few more brands which offered cellulites products. Artistry Body Definer Firming Gel is one of my favorite and am still using this owsome product. :D. Scientific formulation designed to measurably reduce thigh girth, thigh texture roughness and the appearance of "dimples". Features a blend of caffeine and special botanicals to refresh and invigorate the skin.Contains Firming Complex to firm, tone and smooth the appearance of hip, thigh, and buttocks skin!! This brand is happening these days as it gives really cool products for the skin and body care. I will be having a separate topic on this brand soon :) I can't miss to share about this with you! This product is not available in Qatar. I had ordered this product from India through a friend. The procedure for applying is the same.

Dr. Renaud, one of the very famous Brands in the Skin and Body care range. The "2-IN-1 REFINING GEL" of Dr. Renaud is also a cool product. It's a Slimming and firming gel to boost skin’s éclat. It promotes lipolysis and preserves the elasticity of the tissues. Contains Caffeine and other stimulating active ingredients. Few of my friends have tried this product and they love it. The results are great. I was using the above product so i never got a chance to try this one. You can buy this product from Nazih, located at the Salwa Road in Qatar.

Shisedo offers wide range of Cellulite and Body firming gels. Products like "Shiseido Body Creator Aromatic Firming Cream", "Shiseido Body Creator Aromatic Sculpting Gel Anti-Cellulite", Shiseido Body Creator Aromatic Salt Scrub and few more :)

Developed with long lasting Advanced SLM Fragrance, a combination of spices and grapefruit, Aromatic Sculpting Gel promises a new experience in body care. This light cooling gel with an empowering fresh scent reduces the appearance of cellulite and improves body contours. I have used the sample of "Shiseido Body Creator Aromatic Sculpting Gel Anti-Cellulite" and it smells really good! Rest are the few more products by Shiseido. It's available in the Merch Mall, Qatar. The sales ladies will help you according to your needs. :) Make sure you understand the procedure very well :)

Few more Brands like Nivea, Dove offers Anti-Cellulite gels, in case the above brands are expensive, you can always buy these very common and affordable brands which are easily available in the markets :)

Please note that these products shouldn't be used by Pregnancy ladies. And if you feel any kind of irritation, stop using the products. Consult your dermatologist.

Plastic Surgicentre, located near Najma street, Al hilal, in Qatar offers 12 session for treating cellulites. You can always contact them and consult as in how many sessions would you require.

Hope the article will help you buying the product wisely and hope it helps fighting the cellulites :) The results are guaranteed if you use as instructed and drink plenty of water! or else there won't be much difference.

Stay Beautiful ;)
